I forgot all about my case of this and found it tidying up the cellar after New Year. Opened earlier in the week (Sunday maybe?) and only drunk slowy until now, perhaps two or three glasses at most.
This really is lovely. It's purple, with a deep opaque core and a very thin clear rim. The nose has many, many things going on: first, kirsch cherries, edged with cedar, then redcurrants and blackcurrants, spearmint, a rather classic and lovely mélange. In the mouth all these flavours reveal themselves. Medium bodied, currants, mint, cedar, lovely gently explosive mouthfeel, with elegant acids. The tannins are somewhat powdery and the medium length, acid finish is accordingly a little granular, I doubt this would last particularly long so clearly I need to make sure to drink these soon enough.

It's nice to be back.
Yes it is isn't it.
Who said that?
What?
Turn the lights on!

Apparently I can do exactly as I please in this thread. JDAW said so. The fact that this was a serious TN and not Meaningless Drivel escaped him. But ours is not to reason why.

Re: 2007 Offley LBV
I'm going to be serious in the thread.
When I first tasted the Offley 2007 LBV (and the Sandeman) I was astonished at how good they were. I'm pleased to see someone else being equally convinced. They really are delicious bottles.

I agree-this is a great every day drinking Port-just a shame I've supped all my supplies and there doesn't appear to be any more (although we can ask again tomorrow).
