An ex-cellars bottle, and only the second time I have had this port.
Dark honey-brown colour with a distinctly green rim, 30% opaque. A wonderful nose full of vibrant orange and acacia honey - very perfumed and attractive. On the palate this is initially smooth and very silky. This initial impression quickly gives way to big palate, full of bitter grapefruit juice and fresh grapefruit peel; lots of fruit but with a searing level of acidity but sufficient residual sugar to balance the palate. The size and power of the palate runs through to the aftertaste, which is full of citrus acidity and lasts for several minutes on the finish. This was a very good bottle of a great wine that is still drinking with such power and balance. 93/100. May 2015.
