1994 Croft

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

This was the first vintage made by Taylor Fladgate Partnership. Brick red, cloudy and opaque. Gentle balanced fruit on the nose with a touch of sour cherry. Smooth entry, full of red cherries and with a twist of lime acidity. A nice mature molasses tone on the mid-palate, full of fruit and powerful acidity. Much of the tannins have dropped away - or perhaps are still hidden by the sweet fruit. Delicious aftertaste of baked fruit, fresh lime and burnt sugar bitterness on the very long finish. A great showing of a fine port. 92/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
