Tawny Port
Bottled 2013. Mature red appearance, 30% opaque. Slightly astringent on the nose, just a touch of heat. Sweet entry with gentle toffee apple and lots of acidity, even some nearly fully resolved tannins. Significantly better on the late palate. The toffee apple acidity runs to the aftertaste but the finish just blossoms nicely and lasts well. 86/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
