NV Sandeman Tawny 10YO (bottled 2013)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2013. Red ochre in colour, 30% opaque. More complex nose than the Reserve Tawny but still very subdued. Smooth texture, a bit of weight and some tannins in the mid-palate. Nice chewy acidity in the mid-palate giving a lovely lift and sparkle; very acidic but well flavoured. A lovely finish, full of flavours and a very long duration. Lingering honey and cedar wood. 88/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
