2013 Sandeman Seixo

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Cask sample. From Sandeman. Deep scarlet colour with a tiny rim. Blackcurrants and fresh spring air on the nose. Sweetened blackcurrants with a huge dose of dry tannins at the core of the palate. The tannins hold well and the combination of the fruit / tannin and the late arriving acidity is just right. A hint of dandelion or rocket adds an attractive green-leaf bitterness to the aftertaste and a grapefruit bitterness shows on the finish. Powerful and dry in style. 91-93/100. May 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
