KL82 from AHB, decanted 06:00. Orange-red, slightly cloudy, about 25% opaque. Nose of orange citrus, and slightly acidic. Palate oleaginous, slightly acidic, with marmalade. Over-mature. Drink up, and soon.

My guesses hesitated between Cr60 and Cr75. The latter would have been better, but I chose the even worse guess.

Decanted 6 hours, 30% opacity, brown orange, tobacco rim, a hint of cloudiness. Sugar bomb - honeycomb, candied red fruit. Mid weight, slightly acidic bitter finish. Guessed Ck60

This was a light-mid brownish-red. Rhubarby nose, dry and dusty. Juicy in the mouth, a lovely sour bitterness, with late cocoa bitterness also. A very good ending. Liked.

From Kopke. Mature red colour with a bronze rim. Nosing of brown sugar and slightly smelly bruised plums. The bruised plums and soft brown sugar combine to give a very pleasant palate - a delicious combination that blossoms well. A fantastic aftertaste that is sweet and full of red licorice with a tremendous dose of floral elegance and a great length to the finish. Yummy port. 90/100.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
