Ck70, from IDJ, decanted 07:30. Red-red-orange, 25% opaque. Palate past prime. Plum fruit, a hint of citrus, and a hint of sourness. Drink up.

Others liked it more than me, it receiving half of the second-place votes.

I gave this one point. It was mid brown-red, once again with a dusty cherry nose (I had a dusty cherry in my nose that night) and was really quite like a cherry cough sweet, but in a good way. Bitter, dry, with a light finish and some heat at the end. Good.

Decanted 12 hours, 35% opacity, red. Medicinal palate, full mouthfeel. Gentle heat to start, rich, candied syrupy finish. Guessed to be F70.

Crystal clear, a lovely rose red colour. Attractive on the nose with mature fruit and gentle mace spice. Delicious entry, full of sweet fruit with great maturity. Lively and multi-layered, a really fine palate with a very floral late palate. The finish is impressive, full of sweet and spicy fruit. A lovely port. Served blind this was guessed to be Dow 1970. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
