No port in Bangalore - thankfully, I'm in London.

Organise events to meet up and drink Port.

No port in Bangalore - thankfully, I'm in London.

Post by Chris Doty »

Arrived this morning (10/14) and am here through the weekend. My primary purpose is to help my father celebrate his 61st birthday (tomorrow). My secondary purpose is to catch up with friends and guzzle port (this being where you come in).

If anyone is around in the forthcoming days, and eager to pass time well, I am game.

shout for greatness.

What are your plans for your father's birthday? Are you free tomorrow evening?

If not, the only night I could be in London when you're available would be tonight! And that would be subject to negotiating a domestic pass. I'm in Cornwall Friday / Saturday.

Unless you fancy coming out to the sticks and visiting Wokingham tonight? Direct train from Waterloo (to Reading). You can stay the night and head back into London tomorrow morning.

AHB!

Good to hear from you and would be grand to catch up.

Tomorrow night's plan is dinner at "Skylon" (?).

I could make tonight work - but in London (as I have already handed over a month's wage in Karnataka for my room this evening). Any preference re: time / venue? I have flown over empty handed, but that isn't something an hour or two couldn't fix.

would be great to see you!

I'm at work so would also arrive empty handed - but I have a plan to deal with that.

Can you PM me your phone number. I'm not sure what number you're using at the moment.

I've requested a domestic pass to have dinner in London tonight and await the response.

OK Chris, you're on for tonight. Me and Mrs B will see you at 7pm. I'll book us a table and PM you the details.

Anyone else want to join us tonight?

I could meet for an early drink at 5.30....I have a couple of good candidate bottles. I have a separate dinner at 7.00 prompt on Grey's Inn Road so would need to depart in time to get there

Unfortunately I'm in my Bracknell office today, but I could jump on a train and work for the rest of the day from St James or Cornhill so as to be able to meet you at 5.30 (or earlier). I'd need to leave promptly, as well since I ought to meet EAB at Waterloo station since I promised that I'd be on the same train as she was.

Where were you thinking of meeting for a drink? PM me if you prefer.

El Vino might be closed as part of being taken over by Davy’s. Not sure.

CSD will also be there. Timing is 4.30-6.15pm although any who can are welcome to join us for dinner (but I need prior notice to change the booking).

And, by the way, this is a proper emergency. Being called to order with 7 hours notice, that's a real emergency.

Seven hour response for an international emergency. Jeff Tracy would be proud!
