Ch85 Very nice port and best of the 2nd flight. Deep purple, and a strong powerful fruity taste, that had some nicely balanced heat on a good finish. 90 points

Deep rose red colour; 90% opaque at the centre. Closed on the nose, barely showing a little sour black cherries and a hint of VA. Round and smooth with liquid dark chocolate the first impression. The mid-palate brings more chewy tannins that give a dry core to the fruity palate. A decent dose of acidity gives balance but the wine lacks concentration. A faint touch of VA show on the edges of the palate. Dry on the finish, which is of charcoal and prunes. Good length. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

65% opacity, red. Musty nose. A dryness in the mouth, but nonetheless enjoyable.

Ch85. Dark dark red. Big plum early palate, much bitterness mid palate. Mid length. Fruit more prominent than most others on the same page (S, Mz, GC, QH, SW).
