1924 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled by FW Brind of London and known to be of the 1924 vintage. The shipper is presumed, based on the flavour profile of the wine when tasted. No branding was visible on the cork.

Polished mahogany in colour with a wide green rim. Lovely on the nose with a melange of spices and dried fruit so typical in mature vintage port, but sadly with some hints of oxidation. Wonderful palate, sweet and complex; some heat and generous levels of sweet dried fruit, spices and a good dose of brandy. Good complexity. Heat shows on the finish, which has a great length. Powerful port. 91/100.
