2007 Ferreira

A small emergency, with a theme of Young Port, at the B&F, preceded by beer at The George.

A small quality-control sample at noon showed good plum fruit, mid-weight, lovely drinking. Probably not a Port for the ages, but will slip down excellently after the beer.

Very soft, and also very dry. Some sharpness mid-palate. Dark plums. Quite lovely young Port.

Fr07 A very fruity, smooth port with some dryness too. Maybe i am mad, but it was like drinking a very strong Australian Shiraz. I look forward to trying this again in 15 or so years to see how it has developed.
