2000 Sandeman

Post by jdaw1 »

A small emergency, with a theme of Young Port, at the B&F, preceded by beer at The George.

Palate starts with dark fruited grittiness, and moves on to -- what? -- some pepper, but also a hint of Worcestershire sauce. More fine drinking.

S00 A lovely port that had a good structure to it and effortlessly moved through the gears from big fruits, some spice and a nice long rich and smooth finish. ready to drink now and didn't appear to be closed at all, but I am sure it will be much more drinkable in years to come. This bottle was from the newly presented Sandman 2000 collection to celebrate the 225 anniversary and had the 'Word' label which is the first of the 6 new limited edition presentation labels (see link).
