2003 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by jdaw1 »

A small emergency, with a theme of Young Port, at the B&F, preceded by beer at The George.

Fruit dominated by prunes. Lots of mocha bitterness on tip of tongue. Some grit throughout. Hint of plums as well.

V03 Lots of fruit on the nose and on the palate. Julian spot on with the prunes, but also plums and dark berries. A fine port, but possibly a bit dusty and closed as i didn't get the same wow factor I have enjoyed at recent tastings of the 94 and 97 Vesuvios. I am sure this will be a great port but still much too early to drink.
