2013 Unidade

Post by jdaw1 »

A small emergency, with a theme of Young Port, at the B&F, preceded by beer at The George.

Still tanky-style young Port. Medium-heavy, but surprisingly drinkable for age.

U13 I really liked this port, and massive thanks to Wolfgang for bringing it along. I found it sweet, plummy, with lots of fruits and very drinkable now. I didn't get the sense of 'Tanky' that Julian perceived, but there was a dryness on the finish. I have heard and read so much about this project, and am grateful to have now tried it. This port is by no means a 'novelty' and I am sure it will go on to be a fantastic port to enjoy. How wonderful to have achieved the production of the Unidade MMXIII, to raise money for a great cause and have a wonderful tasting port too. Axel and all involved...I salute you!

89/90 points (that i am sure will be more in a generation)
