Opened using tongs and decanted at 9pm on Sunday night, directly into a screw cap wine bottle. Previous experience having indicated an extended decant might be of benefit to this port.

Both original bottle and screw cap wine bottle are travelling to the B&F tomorrow, the former so Phil will be able to photograph it for the port image library.

15% opacity, warm orange brown. Very fine and gentle mouthfeel, wonderful balance and superb length. Really very nice port!

Light rose-orange in colour, 20% opaque. A lovely bitter-sweet kumquat on the nose, delicate yet fragrant, concentrated and delicious; nicely developed and very attractive. Smooth entry with spicy marmalade with lots of fire. Delicious and alive with the acidity keeping this port very fresh and sprightly. Slightly peppery aftertaste with a king, bitter marmalade finish of intense and sweet caramelised orange peel. Very fine port. 94/100. Drunk 08-Feb-16. 22 hours double decanted.

BN60 Light in colour and also on the nose with just a touch of caramelised fruit coming through. On the taste this is a beautiful mature port, expressing the best of 'vintage' with some fruits still showing, but combined with some aged tawny characteristics. A sophisticated and complex port that had wonderful balance with some spice and heat on the finish. I have heard others talk about B&N ports before, but never had the pleasure, and this lived up to expectations. Thanks to Alex for bringing it along, a privilidge to taste this fine 56YO port.

BN60. Orange, 20% opaque. Palate unctuous. Very soft, mid weight, very long, hint of smoke and exotic fruit — pineapple? Later, still delicious.
