35% opacity, warm red. Some fruit on the nose bit with a slight steweyness. Mild heat all along the palate, mid weight.

Clear pale to medium red with light rim and bright hues. The 90 felt more complex in terms of aromatic character with concentrated red fruit, fig, sultanas, liquorice, caramel and vanilla with hints of tobacco . Beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness with a very long aftertaste.

V90 The lightest and thinnest of the vertical with 50% opacity. A bit watery, and lacking enough flavour compared to most of the other ports with a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle 22604. Mature red with slight browning on the rim; 80% opaque. Little on the nose, just vague hints of cooked strawberry. Modest entry, dried cranberry and baked biscuits. Nice sweet fruit on the mid-palate. A modest but pleasant aftertaste, albeit gentle, followed by a sweet finish of red licorice and lingering sweetened redcurrant. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

V90. Glorious red, 50% opaque. Nose of red cherry. Palate slightly sour, with blackberries. Pleasantly drinkable, but past prime.
