2002 Croft Roeda

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dark red in colour, but not showing any youth; 90% opaque. Subdued plums on the nose. Sweet dried figs and fat plums on the palate. Smooth and sweet with soft tannins and a nice balance. Late on the palate there is spice and coriander. Figgy flavoured finish and a huge dose of heat late in the aftertaste which takes a long time to fade but eventually gives way to an enjoyable gentley chewy finish. Very pleasant. 87/100. 25-Feb-16. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
