Tease. I am home alone that week with Mrs R in France (Cannes) 'working'. I can't even declare an interest in attending. I hereby declare that I shall join you in spirit in Reigate. 5 minutes talking to myself, red meat and a surprise from the cellar!

Probably. Not tested. Here Chris Doty wrote:is this problem the same across all 345+ languages found on the subcontinent? Can't do Hindi, Kanada, tamil, etc. etc. ?
Maybe. But fixing it would be a huge effort, for little gain. India is not a country of Port drinkers, nor a good place to store Port. The greater loss is the inability to handle Japanese. Indeed, for about eight years the manual has said:Chris Doty wrote:That would seem like a pretty huge limitation in your otherwise very malleable and impressive software...
JDAW, in the manual, wrote:The program was designed for left-to-right script, and the alphabets successfully used have been Roman (mostly), Greek (occasionally), and Cyrillic (rarely). Reason not obvious. And the same names aren’t two-letter in TJB. So something else will be chosen.Chris Doty wrote:If we were going to do something biblical, I would ask you to consult the Jerusalem Bible, rather than the KJ (for obvious reasons)...

This may be the first time I have overrated your intelligence. Surely even a Wiseman would be able to understand a pretty fundamental distinction between the two texts...jdaw1 wrote:Reason not obvious
Anyway, we are making too complex an ordeal out of this. Just number 1-12 then and let's be done.

If I had seen — instead of, carelessly, missing — the signs of piety, devotion, and fealty to Rome, then indeed the reason would have been obvious to me. I apologise for my obliviousness.Chris Doty wrote:This may be the first time I have overrated your intelligence. Chris Doty choosing the simple unimaginative low-effort path? You are not Chris Doty, you are an impostor who has stolen his login password.Chris Doty wrote:Anyway, we are making too complex an ordeal out of this. Just number 1-12 then and let's be done.

No worries. I understand that although I may have been blessed to receive 5 of the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic Church (the last one having been...something of a doozy), I grant that none of these has been administered at the Bung Hole.jdaw1 wrote:If I had seen — instead of, carelessly, missing — the signs of piety, devotion, and fealty to Rome, then indeed the reason would have been obvious to me. “I was fascinated by the mind-stretching that occurred as part of my Jesuit education,” said Doty, who worked the night shift at the incinerator on West 56th Street during the height of the Great Depression to pay for his Fordham tuition. “I later went to Columbia to get a master’s degree, but I never got the same mind-stretching experience that I’d gotten at Fordham.”

“If I did not have the Catholic faith and I wanted to invent a faith for myself, what would I do? I think I would reinvent the Catholic faith. It may sound foolish, but I think of a loving God, a forgiving God. How can you beat that?”
Yeah...you could say he left an impression on me...

I see. Of course you are your own man, and I defer to your judgment with respect to the evolution of your program, but I would like to note for the record that the population of Japan is ~120m, whereas India's population is ~1.2B.....choose wisely....

Ahh, a deep mis-understanding. The target user of the software is me. Everybody else is a guest — a welcome guest, for whom improvements can be made, but not the core user. And there is no native Indian alcohol that I like — perhaps a failing of mine — whereas I do like Sake. Hence the noting of Japanese.Chris Doty wrote:I see. Yes the Cup has been engraved. I'll attempt to remember to take a photo and post tomorrow.
No I have not spoken to the Square, I will do so during the week.
I don't have Kevin Pietersen's contact details but if you pass them on to me I will invite him to attend - that might even persuade Ben to book a baby-sitter!

AHB - if the development of the film would be not such an extravagant expense, would it be possible to add a shot of just the names to properly honor your fellow champions?AHB wrote:Here's the photo of the cup, engraved with the names of the first three winners.
