85% opacity, dark red. Mild heat on the palate plus a tannic finish. Fruit is there, body a little light. Feels like this one might run out of steam before old age.

Dark red with just a hint of brick and a wide rim. Limited nose, closed and showing very little. Restrained on the palate too, thin but with powerful tannins; so much so that this is lacking in fruit and dominated by the tannins and acidity. Saccharine and mint on the aftertaste with a long, dry and huge green finish. Very difficult to score, this is either extremely closed or tainted very slightly with TCA - enough to flatten the fruit but not enough to be picked up directly. NR.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
