2011 Quinta do Crasto LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled unfiltered in 2015. Deep purple in colour with a wide rim. Lovely nose of gentle blueberry. Smooth, soft entry feeling like a goose-down duvet settling over the tongue. Masses of fruit on the palate, reminding me of over-ripe bramble fruit. Lovely tannins give bite but most of the structure comes from the perfect acidity. Beautiful floral finish. Crasto has nailed this vintage and produced a wonderful LBV that will reward time in the cellar. 92/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
