1941 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2016)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2016. Olive brown with a light green rim. Subdued on the nose but with a lovely texture on the palate, a big presence but one which is slow to arrive. The acidity is powerful and there are even some tannins on the palate! The finish is great with a little heat but a very, very long length that is a little cloying right at the end. This is an port which is intense, full of syrup and brown sugar balanced by fresh green apple acidity. 90/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
