Very pink, and quite pale. A big nose heavy with spice. Loved the nose. SRG found “smokey† (yes, maybe, a bit) and HEG found “marzipan† (exactly right: marzipan!). In the mouth big, with good length, Simon’s smoke, spice and well-melded sugar, liquorice. An excellent junior Taylor.

My oldest Delaforce to date. Tasted after 4 hours in the decanter. Deep orange colour, paling in the rim. A slight touch of bottle-stink on the nose that blew off after a couple of hours in the glass but the fruit still came through that. Sweet in the mouth with strawberry syrup and cherries. The marzipan that others noted was very recognisable. Very rich, complex and mouth-filling with tannins still noticeable. Very sweet aftertaste with a terrific length that goes through several phases before disappearing. 5/4 or 92/100.
