1965 Fonseca Guimaraens

Post by jdaw1 »

Within the regulation week of DRT’s 51st birthday, we (DRT, JDAW, IDJ, AHB, THRA, SCD, CPR, ARM, and TC) brought “a bottle of VP, blind or sighted” to the Boot and Flogger.

Mature brick red in colour, nosing gently of cranberry and redcurrant jelly - full of sour fruit. Hot and peppery on the palate with lots of dried red peppercorn. Hot and alcoholic finish. Served blind. 84/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

FG65. Red red brown, 35% opaque. Soft, lovely mature Port. Slightly lighter than mid-weight. Long.
