1985 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red in colour with brick hints on the edge; 50% mature. Mature fruit on the nose with soft, spiced cooked fruit. Sweet on the palate, with the fruit leading nicely toned by hints of nutmeg and mace. The tannins only appear on the late palate but despite this the whole palate is balanced and fresh. Fragrant and perfumed on the aftertaste, then a big and candied fruit finish of great length. This is more evolved bottle than some drunk recently , more evolved and elegant than expected. 92/100. 04-May-16
