Ex-cellars. Deep red, dark and brooding; opaque at the centre. Lovely nose, rich and concentrated and still so youthful, with masses of blackcurrants. Smooth and silky entry with rich fruit like a dark fruit cake, with cherries and raisins and a dark chocolate. A lovely mouthful. A flavoursome aftertaste of sweet dark cherry, dark honey and dark chocolate. A very fine port with at least another couple of decades ahead of it. Delicious port. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

RP83. Dark dark red. Palate sweet, plum fruit. Big full and sweet. Lovely, really impressive wine in an often unimpressive year. Also too young.
