NV Dow Crusted 1985

Picked this up in a bundle of oddities at auction recently.
Decanted 1 hour, 30% opacity, brown-red. Nose of mature port - strawberry, prunes, violets, really quite candied and floral at the same time. In the mouth, very smooth, just a very little bit of heat mid palate, with strawberry again, and a wonderful long aftertaste. Not much tannin in evidence, but nicely balanced if a little light in weight.
A real surprise - had I tasted this blind I would have been guessing maybe T70 or D70.
