90% opacity. Lacks backbone, pepper in the mouth, tannic finish, not much length.

V04 95% opacity. My favourite of the 03-08 flight. Once again it had that silky smoothness, with huge fruits, sweet but not too much, and great balance with a very long finish. A big port with years to go.

Looking to be in early maturity with a wide rim. Faint sweet honeysuckle or esteva on the nose. Clean entry with focused fruit and generous tannins. Good levels of acidity. The tannins give a great peppery tone. The aftertaste is of sweet and simple fruit with a slightly hot edge to the finish. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

V04. Unbalanced, and light. Pleasant, but this bottle not better than that.
