45% opacity, red-brown, orange rim. Nose of cherries, chocolate and mocha. Lively entry, gentle acidity, lovely sweetness - dried fruits.

I love it when two people at the same event, looking at the same wine come up with such different assessments of how opaque it is. Hey ho.
Acquired from a Straker Chadwick auction in 2009. Deep red with a brown tone; 80% opaque. A lovely mature port nose with a sour edge. A big entry, slightly dirty but huge and full of fruit. The fruit and Garibaldi biscuit grows and grows until it delivers a massive palate of mature fruit — wow! A big aftertaste of slightly baked fruit that leads to a biscuit and strawberry paste finish. This is a very big and very fine wine. 94/100. Drunk 13-Dec-16. Decanted 2½ hours.

N27. Dark dark red, 80% opaque. Palate big. Big. Heat early and mid, with dark plums. Very sweet, even cloying. Later smoke appeared, the heat and sweetness and plums remaining. Fantastic Port.
