30% opacity, mature red-brown, amber rim. Dusty cherries on the nose. Lovely smooth syrupy entry, sweetness and cherries. Lovely balance, very soft in the mouth.

A bottle brought by James Maitland from a case he had been given by his godfather as a christening present and stored carefully by him and his father since. This was James's penultimate bottle.

Bottled by Berry Brothers & Rudd. Brick red in colour, slightly darker than the Cockburn next to it. A wonderful nose of cinnamon infused Christmas cake - absolutely delightful. Rounded and thick in texture on the palate this has a perfect level of acidity to offset the concentrated orange oil that dominates the palate; air even brings hints of tannins into play! The aftertaste is fabulous with huge waves of bitter Seville orange marmalade cascading over the senses, slowly fading to a lingering bitter orange amd thickly textured finish. This is great, delicious port. 93/100. Drunk 06-Apr-17. Decanted 2 hours.
