1970 Taylor

Post by jdaw1 »

On Thursday 19th October 2017 a small emergency was held at the Boot & Flogger, with five attendees. The theme was ‘Mature V.P. or L.B.V.’, blind, and both types showed beautifully.

T70, labelled MPM. Dark-ish red, 60% opaque. Plums on nose; palate starting dry then becoming sweet plums. Large and long, with strawberries prominent late palate.

JDAW and WPS guess D70, so were correct about the vintage. Vote favourite by three people, favourite-equal by Mike, and second-favourite by Alex M., so the clear WOTN.

45% opacity, dark red. Dark fruits on the nose, plums. Full mouthfeel, rich dark fruits. Very nice port.
