Dows LBV '01, 50cl -Bargain?
Dows LBV '01, 50cl -Bargain?
Just spotted in my local Somerfield, Dows LBV 2001 in 50cl bottles, reduced to £4.99
I find the 50cl bottles a 'very comfortable' size for weekend drinking, I drink other wines too and like to finish the evening on a glass or two of port.
I have not tried the '01 as yet but do recall enjoying the '99 recently. Worth going back for more?

And I have lost the receipt
I decantered it last night, had a sniff this morning, the 'dry box' smell had died down quite considerably but it still showed. I can taste bright fruit struggling to navigate a fog of dusty oak, a real fight going on, Harry Hill would be proud.
Down the sink methinks.

I would try taking it back anyway. The Sale of Goods Act does not require proof of purchase, however much the shop may like you to think that it does.
They either have to believe you and give you a replacement or your money back, or call you a liar and open themselves up to an accusation of slander.

Neither. My current avatar is a photograph of the self-styled Marquis de Croft, taken at a recent seance in Boston when he put in an appearance at a vertical of Croft vintages stretching back to 1896.Sideways wrote:By the way, is that you or Professor Plum in your avatar?

Yes, it was very unexpected when the Marquis made an appearance. I thought I was drinking a bit much and seeing things, then the photo confirmed I wasn't.AHB wrote:Neither.
