Light in colour, very pale looking (more like a 1982 than a 1977 vintage!); 30% opaque. Not much on the nose — in fact, nothing at all! 30 minutes later this showed a little faint treacle coming through on the nose. A hint of harshness on the entry, soapy on the mid-palate, very reminiscent of the Martinez style in the 1970s. Warm aftertaste and a soapy finish. Really not very nice. 71/100. 19-Dec-17. Decanted 6 hours.

20% opacity, red /orange. Bottle number 0031. Nose had fruit and bubblegum. Silky smooth entry, sweet mid palate, candy, dusty cherries. Lovely port with a long aftertaste though not high complexity.
I think my glass seems to have been a better sample than Alex's glass!
