A mature red colour with a wide rim and an opaque centre. Little showing on the nose, perhaps a little alpine strawberry. Gentle strawberry fruit at first on the palate, combining with a nice grip on the mid-palate from the fine-grained tannins which support the generous strawberry fruit that develops well on the palate. Some heat shows on the aftertaste before a long dark chocolate and raspberry finish. While perfectly drinkable, this would benefit from more time in the cellar. 88/100. Decanted 3½ hours.
