Darker purple colour that the Broadbent 2011, opaque at the centre. A wonderful nose full of delicious dark fruit. Silky texture with huge tannins giving a fine grained but firm grip. Full of fruit but now starting to be slightly out of balance between the fruit, tannins and acidity. The late palate still brings everything back into balance and is dominated by the powerful fruit. Big, fat, floral and fruit aftertaste followed by a dark chocolate finish. Wonderful. 95/100. Decanted 6 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
