F66, decanted noon. Glorious red, 40% opaque. Palate of red fruit and pepper, mid length, soft, long, and dry at end. It’s less than an old-school F66, but still delightful.

Later it had grown in the glass, but not to the dark-fruit mass of F66 as they used to be.

Unexpectedly for a Fonseca 1966, this was an elegant and well structured bottle; mature and drinking nicely. Not quite in my top three wines for the night I seemed to like this much more than most others on the day. (Notes lost.) 91/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
