Some provenance...

The final bottle from two full sealed OWCs.
Christies South Kensington sale 7649, lot 408, November 2008.
The previous 23 bottles have all been in excellent condition with fill levels into neck.

RV72. Glorious red, 50% opaque. Soft red cherry, a hint of _La Tour Blanche_, medium weight , sweet throughout the palate, lovely balance. Showing really well. I really like.

The best ʼ72 I recall tasting.

30% opacity, mature red. Rich Christmas cake nose. Rich, syrupy, strawberry jam. Lovely port. Far and away the best '72 I have ever tasted.

This for me was the surprise of the night, and by far the best 72 I have had the pleasure to taste. This was rich and sweet with a great mouth feel, very satisfying.
