I’m still up for this. Loved her wines when I have found them to try.forest26 wrote:As this was set up some time ago and there is a waiting list - I would be grateful if you can reconfirm !

I'm still available for this. She was a great host for the online one we had; hopefully carries this even better in person.
Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage Thursday July 8th
Reconfirming thanks.
Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage Thursday July 8th
Waiting for a definitive response as her acceptance was in the singular.
Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage Thursday July 8th
I would love to be there but,as it is touch and go whether I will have received my second jab, I will have to get off the fence and say no. Bump one up from the waiting list. Any chance of a live link Julian/Tony?

BBC: 21 June: End of England's Covid lockdown could be delayed by one month
Financial Times: Johnson set to delay lockdown easing in England by one month
Mon 21st June + 4 weeks = Mon 19th July. The government is considering delaying the lifting of England's remaining Covid restrictions by up to four weeks, sources have told the BBC.
The final stage of lifting lockdown, originally planned to take place no earlier than 21 June, would see all legal limits on social contact removed.
It comes amid growing concern over rapidly increasing cases and the higher transmissibility of the Delta variant.
Downing Street sources emphasised that no final decision has been made yet.
Data is still being examined ahead of a final announcement scheduled for Monday, but a Whitehall source said a number of options were being considered and the four-week delay was currently the main one.
Pushing the date back would allow the vaccination programme to take greater effect, as the rollout moves through to younger age groups.
Financial Times: Johnson set to delay lockdown easing in England by one month
Presumably all this is the forewarning of the announcement on Mon 14th June.Boris Johnson is set to delay the lifting of remaining coronavirus restrictions in England for a month after his chief medical adviser pressed him to postpone the move following a surge in Covid-19 cases.
The restrictions are meant to be removed on June 21, but Chris Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, has sought a four-week delay. The prime minister is due to make an announcement on Monday.
Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage Thursday July 8th
Yes following this closely. We should have a better idea on Monday so will need to make a decision then.
Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage Thursday July 8th
Thwarted by Boris again..... first he cancels my trip to Porto this week and now this.....
Sorry we will have to postpone this and look for alternative dates in what is a packed schedule later in the year. - I'll contact Sophia tomorrow

Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage POSTPONED
On the plus side I might have my second jab by then so will join the waiting list. Not sure of the rules but does the fact I gave up my place voluntarily put me up the queue; over to Julian and Derek.

Re: Quinta de la Rosa LBV and Vintage POSTPONED
Most definitely. Or at least it would if I was the organiser, but since I’m not I can’t make the decision. So, I’m other words, I’m the good cop and Tony’s the bad cop.
Interestingly that as far as Boris is concerned, you are free to travel to and from the UK since you are in the Common Travel Area.
