NV Churchill Tawny 20YO (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2019. Copper-red colour, quite pale at around 40% opaque. Roasted almonds and red toffee on the nose. Nicely balanced palate, a little beeswax and a touch of tannin providing a little grip. Nutty flavours, a little cinnamon drops on the palate; sweet but well balanced. Cinnamon drops on the aftertaste, which fills the tastebuds well; slowly fading cinnamon drops finish, ending with a little red toffee and clove. Balanced, uncomplicated and straightforward. 87/100. 22-Jan-22. Decanted 2 days.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
