1967 Taylor Vargellas
A bottle was discovered which had been seeping gently.
Although the full had dropped, it was still mid-shoulder.
But the colour looked OK.
The wine was allowed to sit in the decanter for about an hour and then was tasted. It was a mature brick-red colour, around 50% opaque. Redcurrants and cedar on the nose, a little bit too faint. Nicely structured palate; generous sweet redcurrant fruit with a green tannic hint and remarkable acidity. Incredibly fragrant and surprisingly dry, the wine has considerable power. Lots of menthol and tobacco heat and spice on the aftertaste, although this settles down to a very long, dry redcurrant finish. Hot and fiery, this is rather delicious. 89/100.

The remnants of the decanter were taken to be consumed as part of the Continuing Emergency Malvedos Vertical.
JDAW comment: TV67. Initially dirty, mostly on nose, but nose infected palate. Time in glass has cleaned it. Mid weight, caramel, zero fruit, smooth and smooth. Old, edge of tired; would have been better 20 years ago.
Made for monsieur Macron.
