Ex-cellars and drunk pre-dinner with Carlos Agrellos and Patricia Bastos on day two of our two night stay at Quinta do Noval.
Cedro do Noval Branco 2022, made 100% grapes bought in. Light oak touch, 16% fermented in new oak. Delicious fresh fruit, acidic with a lovely lemon (from the Rabigato). Made from a blend of Rabigato, Viosinho, Gouveio, Arinto. Lovely, light and fresh. 89/100.
Carlos observed that demand for white wines is booming. They have contracts with a number of local grape farmers to buy white grapes to make this wine and have been able to grow the production volume from 16,000 bottles two years ago to 45,000 in 2022. 89/100.
