1996 Graham Malvedos
Graham Malvedos 1996 in half. Much harsher and less pleasant than the half bottle of W00 tasted alongside. Lighter and thinner in texture with a slightly sulphurous tone. Baked fruit, hint of cabbage to the flavour on palate and finish. Good length, but such an (unpleasant) contrast to the W00. 85/100. Drunk 19-Mar-23. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I take the point about the unpleasant contrast, but those halves of Warre 2000 are absolutely lush. I am on half 39 of 48. It is disastrously drinkable.

I concur. I cracked a half to share with family on Christmas Day and it's absolutely gorgeous in its relative youth.winesecretary wrote:I take the point about the unpleasant contrast, but those halves of Warre 2000 are absolutely lush. I am on half 39 of 48. It is disastrously drinkable.
