NV Conde Oeiras Meio Doce

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

NV Conde de Oeiras, Meio Doce, Carcavelos - the first bottling of this wine; a blend from the vintages 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2004. Bottled in 2009. Decanted to allow the wine to develop. Wonderful orange and tangerine nose with a hint of oak underneath. RS of around 110g. Sweet but well balanced on the palate, soft fruit dominated by tangerine and orange blossom honey. Fades quite quickly on the finish although takes a long time to disappear completely. 89/100. Tasted at a Carcavelos event in Lisbon on 29-Feb-2024.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
