1955 Cockburn, bottled in the UK by an unknown bottler. Pop and pour from a bottle with a base of neck fill and a good colour. Ruby red colour, 60% opaque. Fruit nose, ripe red berries and fruits of the forest. Smooth fruit on the palate, red fruit gums with a nicely judged backbone of acidity and lime oil appearing on the mid-palate. Lime oil aftertaste; mint, black tea and redcurrant jelly on the long finish. This is going to be wonderful with a little more time in the decanter! 94/100. Tasted 02-Mar-24. Pop and pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
