FG04. Clearly late in the evening, I have no note of the presumably opaque and dark colour; of the nose only ‟wood”; and of the taste only ‟too young”.

Purple in colour, opaque and cloudy. Lovely nose, full of soft blackcurrants if a little spirity. Sweet fruity impact, masses of dry blackcurrant, very fruity. Tannins are soft but chocolatey. Very lovely palate and with great balance; delicious fruit. Purple plum skins on the aftertaste, followed by a long and fragrant chocolate finish. A lovely wine, probably early maturing and in an elegant style. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
