FG05. I have no note of the presumably opaque and dark colour. Nose had an aroma of soiled nappy presumably bottle age will lessen this; and the taste was too freshly bottled for me to be confident of anything. It was late in the evening.

844 cases released. Deep magenta in colour, dark and opaque. Nosing of faint blackcurrant pie. Good fruit on the palate, dry but ripe; supporting acidty and the modest tannin are nicely balanced, if a little chalky. The tannins fade to leave a lovely fruit that dominates the aftertaste and leads to a splendid fruity finish. Very tasty port. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
