Re: 1970 Croft
Deep orange colour, 80% opaque. Mild on the nose, slightly spicy and with good levels of dried fruit; highly perfumed. Sweet fruit dominates the medium bodied entry. Dry on the palate, tannins are dry but gentle. Very spicy, structured and sweet. Hot burn on the afteraste, followed by a long finish that is sweet and sticky. (Vintages guessed to be 70, 70, 70, 66; shipper guessed to be Taylor, Graham, Croft and Warre.) 86/100. Drunk after 13 hours double decanting.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Reddish but fading. Some sweet fruits on the nose. Good candy sweetness in the mouth. Rounded cherry-drop sweetness. Lovely, long aftertaste.
