An undeclared vintage port from Cockburn, bottled for a family member. Deep red—a lovely colour, clear and attractive. 55% opaque. More subdued on the nose than the Cockburn 1967 shown alongside but showing similar sweet cranberry and a bit of pepper. Spicy and lively in the mouth, full of sweet fruit. Hot aftertaste and some burn before a long and sweet finish. Delicious port that is clearly up to the quality of a declaration. 89/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
