4 truly spendid ports that showed extremely well, and the bonus Javali which was very enjoyable although much younger than the other ports that night. The Bunghole also continues to out-perform the Crusting Pipe as a venue with good lighting, good food and a manager who is interested in port.

Thanks for a spendid evening chaps. My apologies for having had to leave so early.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

An excellent evening indeed. The four older ports were quite possibly the best flight of mature VPs as we have had in a very long time. Although the Javali was somewhat out of its depth in this company it did put on a good show and I am sure it will make very good drinking in a decade or two.

If this is a standard that can be maintained, I can't wait for next year's annual leap year tasting.

Wow, what an evening with what can only be described as a superb line up. It is quite something when 4th place goes to a Graham '80 that was probably about as good as it will ever get.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and I also can't wait for the next Annual Leap Year event

All-round excellent.

Only the last old VP (in order of tasting) spoilt the run. Prior to that none of us, as in none, had guessed either the shipper or the year. We were spectacularly rubbish.

Unlike the juice. Yummy!

We did not remember in time to repeat it an ‘annum’ later. Alas.

That is a sure sign of ageing if none of us can remember an annual event...great shame...could we have an emergency 29th Feb?
