Firm red colour, but looking to be mature. Wonderful nose, full of mace and lavender and blueberries. Great entry, posessing a lovely balance and with huge volumes of fruit on the palate. There is a touch of heat on the aftertatste and then a massive finish. Smooth and refined, this is nevertheless a mature blockbuster of a port. Fabulous! Served blind this was guessed to be Warre 1966. 95/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
